senior news editor class of 2017
Jack Dowell is a senior with an unhealthy love of ellipses and an obsession with all things pop-punk. He’s on the debate team, but is also happy to argue about more or less anything on a recreational level, and during the winter sports season, he swims, or at least flounders, on DA’s team. At home, he reads a little bit of everything, from newspapers to fantasy to hard sci-fi, and has been rumored to harbor a love of trashy teenage romance novels. He also plays video games, listens to copious amounts of music, and promises himself that he’s going to start practicing the guitar again, just as soon as he has some more free time. He has a steadily increasing supply of band shirts that may eventually overtake his room, and if he shows up at school half-asleep, it’s probably a safe bet that he somehow talked his parents into letting him go to a concert on a school night, or just spent all night watching music videos on Youtube. If you want him to talk your ear off, just mention pop-punk music, space, certain children’s cartoons, or more or less anything relating to social justice. He’s begun to memorize all of Spotify’s ads, since despite constantly listening to it, he’s too stingy to actually pay for a premium subscription. When working, he tends to put things off to the last minute, and might not be good at realizing when being honest isn’t be a good thing.
