former arts reporter class of 2019
Joseph likes to spend his time either drawing, watching television, or doing some random activities like shopping and going to see movies with his friends. Joseph takes care of many, many fish and loves practically all animals. Joseph’s favorite movie is Guardians of The Galaxy, but he spends a significant portion of each week watching funny sitcoms, like his favorite: Parks and Recreation. You can often find Joseph listening to alternative or even pop music. He really loves exploring the different genres of music, and he spends a good portion of each day singing and dancing to his favorite songs. At the moment, he dreams to be a professor of mycology, the study of fungi, since he’s had an interest in fungi all his life. Ever since Joseph was little, he has enjoyed researching and writing papers on mushrooms and different fungi for fun. Outside of academics, Joseph does a lot of volunteer work, which has inspired his advocacy for social justice issues like Fair Trade. Most of the time, obsessing about fandoms, visiting pet stores, and hanging out with his sister will keep him happy. Joseph’s secret talents include clumsiness, sarcasm, and fanboying. Joseph is currently learning Spanish and one day hopes to be fluent enough to visit Spanish-speaking countries without having any trouble communicating. As far as family, Joseph has a sister, a mom and dad, two dogs, and a bunch of fish. Joseph hopes to develop writing skills and investigative skills from the newspaper this year so he can develop better skills at writing and understanding stories.
